Teaching Unimportant?

There were hordes of strikers milling about on the sides of Upper Middle Road this AM. They were teachers out there to remind motorists that they were again striking for more wages and less work.

It might be assumed they have little concern the time they waste milling around like stray sheep makes a difference in what their students learn this year. 

And if that's the case, then it might be correct to assume that their presence in the classroom is somewhat overrated.

And if that's the case, it might be correct to assume that there's a good chance they are already being overpaid.

And if that's the case, maybe it is time to evaluate what their classroom presence actually means in this new age of volatile information exchange.

And if that's the case, how long before they are replaced by far more dependable and reliable robotics?

Those electronics whiz kids are probably perfecting mechanized union leaders right at this very moment. 

Such mechanoids would probably prove no more responsive to reality than the people they replace. 

Quick Maturity:

Those clever devils in charge of our Liberal leader in Ottawa have almost instantly enhanced his public image by hiding his razor.

He's beginning to look more mature every day.

Now we have to listen carefully to see if he sounds more mature.

Phoney Surveys:

Surveys conducted by the electronic media should not be taken seriously. They can be tailored to show a pre-determined result.

It is not easy to believe that any parents of school children being used as hostages in a teacher's strike for less work and more pay would approve of what their hard-earned tax money is buying..

Yet, the media comes up with numbers clearly designed to give viewers the impression that an overwhelming majority of parents approve of this.

Getting the right answers is easy. Media snoops stick a microphone and camera in as many people's faces as they need to get the answers they want. They discard the rest.

Then they down play or disregard entirely the other side of the story and present this as news.

Sloppy News Editing:

News editors in the electronic media have a tendency to allow hyperbole to get in the way of accuracy.

CBC News re: that Iranian general who was de-activated somewhat abruptly on Friday referred to the event as "murdered".

Not surprising to see this kind of hype in US leftist media bias, but we should expect better from Canada's taxpayer-sponsored purveyors of world events. 

Only civilians are murdered. Soleimani was not a civilian. He was described as a high-ranking military type who thought he was operating below the radar. His job was to quietly rub out people whenever Iran's mullahs thought they needed that service.

The US saw to it that he was de-activated permanently. That event should not be described as "murder" just to make Donald Trump look bad. He was "killed" like all military personnel who are terminated.

Impeaching Trump:

Just when you thought things couldn't get any more irrational in US politics, they come up with a new one.

"If we fail to impeach Trump, he'll get re-elected." 

That statement was credited to one of the Democratic inquisitors at the impeachment proceedings.

If that's the best they can do, someone should apologize to the American electorate for wasting time, effort, and getting taxpayers to pay for this futile pursuit. This is the kind of garbage one would expect from people starved for media exposure.. 

It's possible the US electorate endorsed Trump when they sensed where US politics was going and thought it had gone far enough.

What are Donald Trump's chances of getting re-elected? These ridiculous impeachment proceedings are practically guaranteeing it.

New Science?

The man-made global warming and climate change cult festering in our social consciousness today is making climate science look like something loosely put together in an animation studio in Hollywood.

When the CBC and CTV publish numbers like 150,000 scientists all bunching up to declare with one voice that the sky is falling, you know it's not science. It's political propaganda aimed at limited intellects like school children and the adults they are exposed to.

Science at one time was in the hands of people with formally recognized ability to think things through to a logical conclusion. At least that is what we used to think.

This appears to be no longer the case. When scientists bunch up in a herd to collectively issue highly suspect conclusions, we are prompted to think that academic degrees today are handed out like peanuts. 

And it's the politicians who have a hand in who qualifies. It's the politicians who control the research grants which many people engaged in climate science need in order to be employed.

Prince Andrew:

If ever there was a male in the Royal household likely to do what comes naturally, certainly it would be Andrew. And that's a negative only in today's sick social consciousness.

So the tight-assed attitudes of charities Andrew was associated with are rejecting him because he knew someone who was accused of doing things nice guys should not be caught doing? Wow!

Should he lose much sleep over this highly media-hyped PR disaster?

No, he should not. He should see this as a chance to get out of the highly transparent royal fish bowl and live the rest of his days in peace and privacy. To hell with the BBC, public opinion and all the rest of today's media-hyped politically correct phoniness that goes with it. 

Someone has to take the chance to show Brexit how it's done..
